Luxury Picnic Frequently
Asked Questions

  • How far in advance do we need to schedule our luxury picnic?
    If you want the picnic for a special event, or special date, please book as soon as possible. We are already booking for 2022. Weekend dates book up quickly, so if you would like a weekend date, please book at least 2 weeks in advance. We always try our best to schedule you, but sometimes it might not be possible.
  • How do I secure my date?
    To secure your date, please fill out the booking form on our contact page. We will email you our proposal and booking confirmation with your desired date, time, and instructions. You will need to sign our contract and pay half of the picnic fee. Once that is completed your date/picnic is secured for the date! Your date is not confirmed until your non-refundable booking fee has been secured. You must pay the remainder one week before your event.
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
    After you sign our services, and paid your deposit for your event, if you have to cancel, we can always reschedule you for a future date, but we do not offer refunds unless House of Lavish Events cancels. When you book us, we start shopping for your event to make sure it's perfect immediately. Please let us know as soon as possible if your date no longer works, so we can give the opportunity to someone else and get you rescheduled for another date up to 90 days after your original booking date. House of Lavish on issues refunds if we have to reschedule on our end. Just in case there is bad weather on the day of your scheduled event, we ask that you have a backup location in the event we have to change locations due to weather.
  • What is the latest time you book picnics in the day?
    The latest time we book picnics are an hour and a half before sunset, and all picnics end 30mins after sunset. If you wish to extend your picnic later into night, please let us know in advance because some beaches and parks close at sunset. We need to plan for lighting, and a safe location.
  • Can we leave the picnic whenever we’re done?
    All picnics have a 2 hour event time limit unless otherwise noted or you added on more time. If you want to leave earlier, please provide us a 30 minute heads up via call or text so we can arrive back to the picnic for breakdown. You are responsible for all picnic items until we arrive.
  • Is my event refundable?
    No. Once you book your event with us, the deposit is non-refundable. You can, however, reschedule for another time in the future if for some reason you can’t make your original appointment up to 90 days after your initial booking date.
  • What happens if I show up late?
    Your picnic starts at the scheduled time you selected during your booking. We understand life isn’t perfect, so we give a 15 min grace period. The picnic will still end at scheduled time unless you request more time via the add-on section.
  • Do I have to pay for the booking upfront?
    Yes, we charge the half the cost of your picnic or event amount up front because we have to pay our vendors for all the supplies ahead of the time.
  • Is the tip included in the price?
    No. Our part-time drivers use their own gas to come to you and spend the time to set up your event and then drive back to your home to break everything apart. We pay them a standard flat rate per picnic. While tips are optional, we encourage you to tip at your own discretion.
  • Is food included?
    Food is not included in the Picnic Packages. You can bring your favorite take out to your picnic as well! We just ask that you leave any trash in the waste basket - we’ll take care of all that for you. We will be partnering with local businesses in the future to bring you more options so stay tuned for that.
  • Do you provide alcohol?
    Unfortunately, we do not have alcohol available for purchase at this time unless it's pre-arranged. Alcohol is prohibited in our parks. However, we welcome you to BYOB. Keep in mind, the rules do not apply to your own backyard ;)
  • What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my picnic?
    If there is inclement weather on the day of your picnic, don’t panic! We also ask you to think of a backup location in the case of inclement weather. If not, we can reschedule free of charge within 90 days for any available booking date. If there is active inclement weather on the day of your picnic, you can reschedule three hours before your start time. We do not offer refunds but are more than happy to get you rescheduled.
  • What locations can we have a picnic in?
    We have our favorite beaches and parks. We currently ONLY book beaches in Wilmington. We hope to soon be able to do more locations soon, so stay tuned to our social media! We can also set up at your home, business, yacht club, etc.
  • Do we have to choose a park on your list?
    Yes, or if you'd like to recommend a location, simply put in a park you’d like us to do your picnic. We are open to new ones and suggestions.
  • Can we have a picnic in our backyard?
    Yes! Backyard picnics are the best way to really have privacy. Please let us know in the booking form if you would like a backyard picnics. You can have alcohol in the privacy of your own home as alcohol is prohibited at all New Hanover County Parks.
  • I want a secluded area, or private beach away from the crowds can you insure this?"
    We try our best to find a good location on the beach or in the park, but cannot guarantee that it will be completely secluded from other beach goers or people in general unless you have your own private oasis in which case we'd conduct a site check to be sure it's possible.
